  • Our client is a commercial drywall and metal stud framing contractor that has been in business over 80 years. They have excelled on iconic projects in the hospitality, casino, stadium, theme park, multifamily, and retail spaces. They pride themselves on using some of the most advanced technologies to help model, plan, and design projects for clients throughout the Western US.
  • The Commercial Dyrwall Estimator will be responsible for performing takeoffs and compiling estimates for commercial drywall and metal stud framing projects. This will involve working primarily out of the Las Vegas office, with occasional site walks. Our client is looking for a Commercial Drywall Estimator with mid to large scale commercial drywall experience specifically. Can consider GC experience if they self-performed in commercial drywall. This is a growth position in a collaborative environment with a good work/life balance.
Responsibilities:
  • Provide accurate and complete quantity surveys facilitating application/identification of labor, material, and equipment costs
  • Review workforce requirements and critical labor production rates with stakeholders prior to submitting the proposal in order to ensure the accuracy of the estimat
  • Secure quotations from material suppliers, subcontractors, and other stakeholders that support estimated costs.
  • Understand estimating assumptions including but not limited to labor production rates; scheduling; sequencing; safety issues; building code issues; construction techniques and alternative construction materials or methods that may impact costs.
  • Prepare accurate quantity takeoffs and materials pricing.  Determine labor and construction equipment costs
  • Facilitate the review of contractual issues with management and insurance requirements with designated parties during the bid process.
  • Prepare bid estimates that take into consideration scheduling and sequencing with a specific emphasis placed on safety.
  • Assist project management in developing an effective job cost budget; material and subcontractor buyouts, change orders, and post-mortem reviews. Actively monitor the progression of the project to confirm that construction complies with estimating assumptions
  • Participate in estimating meetings at designated intervals to facilitate department communications, continuous improvement, teamwork, and planned training initiatives
  • Post award works with the project management team
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives
Qualifications:
  • 3+ years experience of PM and/or Estimating experience in the commercial wall and ceiling industry required
  • Ability to make accurate judgments and calculations. Experienced in assembling accurate and well-organized estimates and proposals in a timely manner
  • Understanding of contractual terms and conditions.  Familiarity with critical path, logic, sequencing, and activity identification in schedules
  • Proficiency in Word, Excel, and Quick Bid (or similar) estimating software as well as in reading and understanding specifications, blueprints, and drawings
  • Ability to work daily in the Las Vegas office

  • Base salary in the 90k - 120k/year range, flexible dependent on experience
