Civil Water Resources Design Engineer – Stormwater Solutions Industry – Base Salary to 95k/year – Washington, DC
- Our client is a pioneering force in the realm of sustainable water resources design, is currently seeking a Civil Engineer to join its growing team based in Washington, D.C.
- Join the most innovative approach to stormwater management on the market, which specializes in commercial and municipal projects across the country.
- For the Civil Water Resources Design Engineer position, an EIT Civil Engineer with a background in water resources design is preferred. As part of its dedicated team, you'll work directly under a Professional Engineer, contributing to the design of underground stormwater management systems that detain, filter, and infiltrate stormwater runoff.
Responsibilities:
- Work closely with site design engineering consultants to provide stormwater management solutions utilizing our proprietary products.
- Perform hydraulic routing designs using HydroCAD Stormwater Modeling Software.
- Perform hydraulic designs of underground sand filters and our proprietary micro-bioretention filters, in accordance with local stormwater regulations, using custom computer programs.
- Create submittal packages, including drawings and calculations of system designs, for consulting engineers to include in their project submissions.
- Coordinate with the engineering manager to determine design requirements, modifications, and issues.
- Develop and maintain standard and custom details and designs for all product families.
- Work with custom programs to create detailed drawings and bills of material for the manufacture and installation of our products.
- Interface between Commercial Operations, precast manufacturers, fabrication plant managers, and customer service representatives when necessary.
- May occasionally visit precast manufacturing facility or project sites for observation.
Qualifications:
- B.S. in Civil Engineering from an accredited engineering program.
- EIT or EI certification.
- 2+ years civil engineering experience (site civil preferred).
- Proficient in current versions of AutoCAD 2D or 3D.
- Experience with HydroCAD, TR-20 or other stormwater modeling software.
- Experience with Detention Pond modeling/design is a plus
- Ability to grasp and understand structural concepts.
- Strong communication skills, both oral and written for client communications
Compensation:
- Base salary in the 75k - 95k/year range depending on amount of direct relevant experience.
