Civil Estimator – Civil/Site Development Company - Base Salary to 120k/year – Milltown, NJ

• Our client is a private, New Jersey based Environmental Construction Company specializing in Landfill Construction, Operation, Maintenance, Remediation and Renewable Energy projects. Their principals have a combined, seven decades of experience in the Solid Waste, Brownfield Remediation and Renewable Energy Industries, advising and serving both foreign, regional, municipal government agencies and a variety of private sector organizations.
• Currently they are seeking to hire an experienced Civil Estimator. The ideal candidate will be a self-starter, able to work both independently and alongside others, with a sense of urgency and detail oriented.

Responsibilities:

• Assist in the day to day estimating operations.
• Solicit vendors for pricing and quotes on various quantities/materials.
• Create bid folders.
• Attend pre-bid meetings.
• Review on-line sites and websites for bid opportunities.
• Work closely with clients/contractors and third-party providers in development of a project.
• Generate RFIs for project clarification and or requirements.
• Prepare bid proposals and submittals for follow up.
• Maintain organization of project information.
• Clearly communicate with both clients and fellow co-workers to retain repeat business and effectively increase project opportunities.
• Develop and maintain all resource information, including vendors, products, contractors, labor, equipment and Local, State and Federal documentation.
• Bidding information should be kept orderly and accessible

Qualifications:

• 5 + years’ experience in civil estimating, heavy/highway division preferred.
• Associates or Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering, construction management or related field preferred but will consider experience over degree.
• Knowledge of and ability to read civil, storm, water, and earthwork drawings and perform accurate quantity take offs.
• Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills, and the ability to prioritize is crucial.
• Strong knowledge of Microsoft excel.
• Knowledge of Bluebeam, Agtec, Dirt works, or other estimating software methods.

Compensation:

• Base salary in the 60k – 120k/year range
