Civil Engineer – Civil Engineering Firm - Base Salary to 136k/year – Columbus, OH
- Our client is a leading civil engineering firm that provides transportation infrastructure design services to state, municipal, and private clients. They take pride in supporting their employees, with a healthy work/life balance, and hybrid work schedule.
- In this role, the Civil Engineer (internally titled Roadway PM Engineer) will be responsible for the design and management of roadway projects in coordination with clients, subcontractors, consultants. This role is a blend of technical and project management, they need experts in roadway design and construction.
Responsibilities:
- Design of roadway projects to include horizontal and vertical alignment, drainage design, ditch profile, guardrail calculations, and super elevation diagrams
- Design, management, and supervision of staff on roadway projects
- Management of roadway projects including coordination with client, subs, and consultants
- Review or assist in preparing CAD drawings using GEOPAK, INROADS, Open Roads, and MicroStation
- Supervise staff developing construction plans from engineering design calculations
- Supervise or perform quantity calculations and cost estimates for projects
- Supervise/design and prepare erosion control plans
- Supervise the design for the preparation of plans for traffic, signals, intersection design, lighting, and signing design
- Supervise the preparation of maintenance of traffic plans for roadway projects
- Attend various meetings such as field check, public information/involvement, hearings/meetings, and pre-construction
- Work a hybrid schedule from the office in Columbus, OH
Qualifications:
- 10+ years experience roadway design
- PE License in Ohio
- Bachelor of Science degree in Civil Engineering (BSCE)
- Experience preparing roadway plans for DOT projects
- Experience with MicroStation and/or AutoCAD
- Strong technical writing and verbal communication skills
- Highly organized and detail oriented, excellent time management
- Prior PM experience is a plus
- Ability to work a hybrid schedule, from home and out of the office in Columbus, OH
Compensation:
- Base salary in the 95k - 136k/year range, dependent on experience
- Annual bonus potential dependent on company and individual performance
