Civil Construction Estimator - Civil Excavation Construction - Base Salary to 125k/year - Carbondale, CO
Job Description
- Our client is a small family-owned excavation company that operates throughout the Roaring Fork Valley, from Rifle to Aspen. Based in Carbondale, they work on everything from house digs, driveways, roads, utilities, and drainage, on projects ranging from 200k to a few million in value.
- In this role, the Civil Construction Estimator will be responsible for performing takeoffs and estimates for residential, commercial, and municipal projects. This will involve working mostly out of the office, with some occasional site walks. The Civil Construction Estimator will handle everything in the preconstruction phase, working on multiple projects at a time and selecting what work is appropriate for the team to take on. They need someone with Estimating experience in dirt work/excavation specifically, preferably with in-field experience in that industry as well.
- Review plans and select which ones to bid on, considering size of projects and available company resources
- Review and analyze blueprints, specs, proposals, and other documentation
- Perform takeoffs on labor and materials
- Handle multiple estimates in various stages at one time
- Present estimates and budgets to customers
- Work with clients, homeowners, civil engineers, and other team members effectively throughout the preconstruction process
- Perform site walks as needed (with company vehicle)
- Work primarily out of the Carbondale office
- 4+ years experience in civil construction, specifically dirt work
- 2+ years experience in civil construction Estimating
- Must be able to work full time in the Carbondale office
- Proficiency with Excel for Estimating required
- Must be able to read, analyze, and interpret plans and specifications relative to the scope of work and schedule
- Must be able to communicate effectively with clients, engineers, and colleagues
- Base salary in the 100k – 125k/year range
- PTO
- 401k with 3% match
