Buyer - Recycling - Total Compensation to 100k/year - Austin, TX
- Our client, an industry leader in Metals & Recycleables Trading, is seeking a Buyer (internally titled Non Ferrous Trader) to join their dynamic company.
- In this role, the Buyer will be responsible for closing partnerships with leading industrials to source recycled materials.
Responsibilities:
- Exceed monthly revenue and margin goals by facilitating the sale of materials
- Maximize monthly inventory turns by liquidating materials
- Negotiate the best payment terms and pricing for existing inventory
- Leverage the proprietary software to keep claims low
- Manage contracts to completion (shipment and payment completed)
- Work cross-departmentally with operations to ensure the highest degree of customer service
- Aggregate pricing from demand and help establish index and regional pricing in the marketplace
- Onboard any existing customers into portal
- Travel 25% or more as expected for customer visits.
Qualifications:
- 5+ years of experience in the scrap industry
- Deep familiarity with a wide variety of scrap grades
- Scrap industry experience in the US Midwest, South, and East Coast is strongly preferred
- High comfort level with desktop software and mobile apps
- Bachelor's Degree
Compensation: Total compensation for this role is comprised of a base salary up to 70k/year, plus a commission plan that can put total earnings at 100k/year. Our client also offers competitive benefits, unlimited vacation and 401k.
