Building Automation Project Manager - BAS and DDC Controls - Base Salary to 120k/year - Reisterstown, MD

  • Our client is a well-established Building Automation/Controls Provider. They provide BAS/DDC automation controls (Delta, Allerton, Tridium, Schneider, Coppertree, Siemens, Milestone) for HVAC, Access, Security/Surveillance, Smoke, & Lighting for Healthcare/ Hospitals, Labs, Data Centers, & Government buildings. currently seeking to add a Building Automation Project Manager to their staff in Reisterstown, MD. This is a small to mid-sized company that is large enough to offer consistent business opportunities, yet small enough to be family oriented.
  • The Building Automation Project Manager role can be a next step for an experienced controls company Lead Installer looking to get into Project Management, or for an experienced BAS/DDC Project Manger for a BAS company looking for a change. This is mostly a field position monitoring/solving project problems on job sites in MD, DC and Northern VA – hours dependent on project/location.  The Building Automation Project Manager will be managing multiple projects concurrently.

Responsibilities:

  • Plan & prepare projects (installations, retrofits, service)
  • Execute projects, ensuring customer satisfaction – on-site / in the field
  • Generate RFIs to clarify project specific questions/ concerns
  • Seek change order opportunities for expectations outside of the proposed scope of work
  • Collaborate with technical support to ensure complete, accurate engineered drawings
  • Handle customer technical support as needed - specific answers to job related questions
  • Collaborate with team to maintain quality, monitor job pace, manpower, and materials
  • Review job cost reports and properly align manpower with cashflow
  • Provide solid input and job progress for monthly billing
  • Identify, estimate, and propose project change orders
  • Liaise between field and shop to enhance overall communication
  • Provide technical support for field personnel as necessary
  • Build, develop, and grow business relationships vital to project completion
  • Communicate with management to ensure project closeout
  • Offer business development suggestions for further potential opportunities
  • Maintain positive cashflow and profitability for all jobs

Qualifications:

  • 3+ years Project Management, OR Lead Installation experience with a Building Automation Controls company/ contractor
  • HVAC/ temperature controls knowledge / expertise to understand issues and responsibilities during project discussions

Compensation:

  • Base salary in the 90k - 120k/year range
  • Merit-based bonus opportunities
