Assistant Plant Manager – Metal Processing – Base Salary to 70k/year – Arlington, TX

• Our client is a metal distribution company with multiple locations across the US and subsidiary to a leader in the steel industry.
• They are currently seeking an Assistant Plant Manager to support their team in Arlington. The Assistant Plant Manager will work directly with the Operations Manager in overseeing plant and warehouse production, safety, and performance.

Responsibilities:

• Responsible for overseeing activities directly related to daily production and plant operations.
• Assists the Operations Manager in directing and coordinating all production and distribution activities for the organization.
• Reviews warehouse production reports, activity reports, and other performance data to measure productivity and goal achievement and to determine areas needing program improvement.
• Responsible for warehouse safety, housekeeping and preventative maintenance programs.
• Assists the Operations Manager in implementation of organizational policies, goals, objectives, and procedures, conferring with other members of management and staff members as necessary.
• Manages staff, preparing work schedules and assigning specific duties.
• Coaches and mentors warehouse and production staff.
• Promotes branch production goals, objectives, and systems, and recommends necessary changes to the Operations Manager.
• Recommends new approaches, policies, and procedures to effect continual improvements in efficiency of operations.
• Develops and promotes feedback mechanisms for employees to promote continuous improvement.
• Responsible for adhering to/ensuring compliance with applicable safety and quality standards.

Qualifications:

• 1+ years of management experience or any equivalent combination of education and inventory management or relevant operations experience that provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities required.
• High School diploma/GED required, Associate degree in Business or related field preferred.
• Knowledge of raw materials, production processes, cost, inventory and quality management, and other techniques for maximizing the effective manufacturing and distribution of goods required.

Compensation:

• Base salary in the 60k – 70k/year range, plus bonus
