- Our client is a growing construction organization seeking an Assistant Construction Project Manager to support project execution, financial tracking, document control, scheduling, subcontractor coordination, and field operations across multiple commercial construction projects. This position offers the opportunity to work closely with Project Managers and field teams while supporting projects from preconstruction through completion.
Responsibilities:
- Perform Assistant Project Manager responsibilities with increasing independence and accountability.
- Manage project coordination activities including buyout logs, subcontractor tracking, vendor invoice approvals, purchase order creation, and project workflow processes.
- Prepare project financial documentation for Project Manager review, including Job Cost Reports (JCRs), owner invoices, change orders, subcontracts, and scope matrix documentation.
- Track material procurement, long-lead items, subcontractor mobilization schedules, and supply chain activities.
- Maintain Potential Change Order (PCO) logs and Change Order documentation.
- Participate in owner, architect, contractor, and project coordination meetings while preparing agendas and meeting minutes.
- Manage project document control including RFIs, submittals, drawing revisions, meeting documentation, and project records.
- Coordinate with vendors, subcontractors, superintendents, and internal project teams to support project execution.
- Review manpower reports, superintendent reports, equipment logs, and project documentation to support financial tracking and invoice approvals.
- Support implementation of project safety and quality control standards.
- Prepare weekly progress reports and project status updates.
- Assist with field change management and project issue resolution.
- Support onboarding and training of junior project team members.
- Assist with continuous improvement initiatives related to project workflows, documentation, and project management processes.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Architecture, Engineering, or a related field.
- 2+ years of experience in construction project management, construction coordination, assistant project management, project engineering, or related construction project support roles.
- Strong Microsoft Excel proficiency including pivot tables, lookups, formulas, reporting, and dashboard creation.
- Experience utilizing project scheduling software including MS Project, Primavera P6, or Smartsheet.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and Bluebeam.
- Experience preparing and maintaining project documentation, financial reports, job cost tracking, change orders, subcontracts, RFIs, submittals, and project records.
- Experience supporting subcontractor coordination, procurement tracking, vendor management, and construction project administration.
- Ability to manage multiple projects, priorities, and project workstreams simultaneously.
- Ability to travel 25% to 50% based on project requirements.
Compensation:
- Base salary in the 75k - 110k/year range
