Area Safety Manager - Construction - Base Salary to 145k/year - Arlington, VA
- AllSearch Recruiting is searching for an Area Safety Manager for our client in the Mid-Atlantic, Arlington, VA area. The Area Safety Manager will support the construction project teams by managing all safety processes and procedures to ensure successful completion of construction projects within the Mid-Atlantic region. The Area Safety Manager is responsible for training and educating team members and driving the Company’ s safety culture by demonstrating commitment to an injury-free environment through personal actions and mentoring others.
Responsibilities:
- Conducts project site inspections up to 3 times per week within the Mid-Atlantic region to monitor progress and support project-assigned team members, steps in as needed to address and resolve issues and problems, and recommends, approves, and implements modifications to the project plans, schedule, staffing, or budget as needed.
- Conducts project reviews to ensure safety expectations are being met on four components: organization, curb appeal, safety violations and job site office.
- Participate in OSHA inspections, incidents and near miss investigations.
- Report to Regional Safety Manager upon learning of an OSHA inspection or visit any site.
- Completes accident investigations and provides reports to the leadership team which will include inspection data, leading indicators and accident/incident data.
- Identifies and analyzes risks and hazards on project sites and builds a plan to mitigate these risks and hazards in future.
- Identifies inspection trends and builds a business plan to meet the Company’ s objectives in Safety and Health.
- Coordinates, schedules and provides safety training on the project site ranging from $15M and up.
- Assist in developing the project safety training schedule for multiple projects at same time.
- Oversees compliance with the Company’ s safety standards and applicable codes and other legal and regulatory requirements by staying informed about relevant codes and ordinances and permit requirements, and by preparing and/or submitting required documentation and other information to appropriate agencies.
- Provides leadership on construction project sites and builds working relationships with project team members, subcontractors, and key business leaders.
- Coordinates all third-party safety programs within a given region.
- Communicate with key business leaders to provide updates on the status of project, surface and address concerns, and plan specific actions as needed to ensure the successful completion of project.
Qualifications:
- Minimum 4 years of onsite Safety construction experience working on multiple complex construction projects valued at $15M + and exposure to initial construction through delivery.
- Proven track record of driving, promoting, and implementing a safety culture within a construction business.
- This role will require travel to construction sites in the Mid-Atlantic region, including Maryland, Pennsylvania, Virginia, and New Jersey.
Compensation:
- Base salary in the 135k - 145k/year range with bonus option
