Account Executive – HVAC/Controls Systems Integrator – Base Salary to 100k/year + Commission – New York City, NY

  • Our client, a stable, fast-growing HVAC/Controls Systems Integrator, has an immediate need for an Account Executive to handle a territory out of the New York City, NY area (to include Manhattan and the five boroughs).  Our client is a vendor agnostic systems integrator who partners with clients, specifically in the hospitality field, to drive down energy costs.  They are very well-known in the market and have extensive relationships built with major brand names. They are looking to add someone to the team in New York City who operates from a “customer first” mentality.  You will work from a home office and should be able to thrive independently.
  • In this position, the Account Executive will be responsible for new business generation and hunting for new customers within the hospitality vertical, as well as building relationships and expanding existing relationships.  There will be a good amount of networking and entertaining.  The Account Executive will work closely with and answer directly to the company’s General Manager in developing and implementing new growth strategies.  They will sell to facility owners, maintenance managers and engineers.

Qualifications:  The ideal candidate for this position will possess a Bachelor’s Degree and at least 2+ years of proven outside sales success, preferably with experience in HVAC, building automation, software, or selling a service.  The candidate should be independent, self-motivated, and driven to take complete ownership over their role.  They should possess strong CRM experience and exceptional customer service skills.

Compensation:  Our client is offering a solid compensation package for this position, with a base salary in the 75k – 100k/year range and an uncapped bonus/commission structure that should add another 25k – 50k in the first year and with top producers doing 200k/year after a few years in the role.  The company offers a comprehensive benefits package, 401k, PTO and much more.  Additionally, there are other perks tied to company culture that make it a plus to work for this family-centric business!

What did you want to be when you grew up:

I wanted to be a teacher. I come from a family of teachers and coaches. I started coaching cheerleading in the ninth grade and while I veered from my path of becoming a math teacher, I am most passionate when I am able to mentor and coach others. At a young age, someone saw skills in me that I did not see in myself, and I love to be able to give that same gift back to others and help them grow their sales careers.

Fun Fact:

When I lived in Louisville, I decided to run the Kentucky Derby Festival Mini Marathon (13.1), having never been more than a 5K runner. I have always felt that running is a great metaphor for life.  Training for that race showed me not only what amazing things my body is capable of, but what mental toughness can, and will, carry you through. My brother, and huge support to me, ran the race with me that day with bands playing, strangers cheering me on, and a chance to run a lap right on the track at the beautiful, historic Churchill Downs. It was an amazing experience (that I have not repeated)!
