Territory Sales Representative – Physical Security Division, Industrial Supply Distributor – Base Salary to 100k/year – Los Angeles, CA
- Our client is a full line industrial and public safety products distributor. They have been in business for over 40 years and sell primarily to local and state governments, along with fire and law enforcement, and emergency response. They sell all kinds of products like face shields, helmets, laser protective glasses, bomb detection equipment, etc. They have a division that specializes in the planning, design, sale, and execution of complex government IT, Physical Security/Homeland Security, Government Projects. These security projects involve CCTV, Access Control, LPR, AI Security Software, Biometrics, etc.
- They are looking for a Territory Sales Representative to work on this Security Division Sales Team and to be located on the West Coast.
- The ideal candidate for this position must have experience building/designing enterprise-wide security projects involving CCTV, Access Control, LPR, Radar, AI Security Software, Command & Control Platforms, Networking & Communications, Biometrics, and more.
Responsibilities:
- Manages a sales territory and is responsible for the growth of said territory.
- Enters information into CRM and utilizes CRM for territory success.
- Ensures customer satisfaction in assigned accounts.
- Works with customer service on a daily basis to ensure that customers are quoted, and orders are processed in a timely manner.
- Handles customer complaints as necessary and makes sure that customer service objectives are met.
- Develops a sales plan and executes the plan to ensure territory success.
- Learns products and works with vendors to ensure customer needs are met.
- Learns contract vehicles and works to ensure that sales are aligned with proper contracts, and that contracts are well understood by customers and vendors.
- Contacts new and established customers to create opportunities.
- Develops quotes and a pipeline of opportunities.
- Closes sales and ensures customer satisfaction with their purchase.
Qualifications:
- 4 year college degree preferred.
- Must know how to build security solutions that address the customers use cases.
- Must have experience in building/designing enterprise-wide security projects involving CCTV, Access Control, LPR, Radar, AI Security Software, Command & Control Platforms, Networking & Communications, Biometrics, and more.
- 5+ years of successful outside sales experience
- Must be able to travel and stay overnight
- Must be a licensed driver w/ good driving record
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills required.
Compensation:
- Base salary in the 80k - 100k range, plus uncapped commission plan
- Car allowance, expense account, home office set up, etc.

What motivates you?
A good challenge or competition! Changing people’s lives for the better!
When did you start selling and/or recruiting?
I think I started selling when I came out of the womb. Seriously though, for as long as I can remember, I have enjoyed meeting people, making friends, building relationships, you name it. I can’t think of anything I would rather do than sales and recruiting! There is no greater feeling than matching that perfect candidate with his or her dream job! That makes me happy!
What do you do for fun/spend your free time?
I love sports – coaching, watching, participating (much more when I was younger, of course). I have three boys that keep me very busy, and I have loved coaching them over the past ten years or so. Football, wrestling, baseball, lacrosse, and basketball!
Where did you go to school, college, major?
Towson State University (when it was still called Towson State). Greatest five years of my life. I met my wife, I met my business partner, I met many lifelong friends and I had a ton of fun!
What do you typically eat for breakfast?
Depends. Am I in my “all or nothing” workout phase where it’s a Nutribullet shake with veggies and fruits, or is it the other nine months of the year when it’s whatever I can get my hands on?
Who is your hero?
My dad. He taught me everything I know! I learned how to work hard, how to be a good father, how to be a good husband, how to ride a motorcycle, how to sacrifice everything for those that you love, how to deal with terrible situations and make the best of it, and most importantly, how to never give up!
