Field Operations Manager – Steel Manufacturing and Installation – Base Salary to 115k/year – Raleigh, NC

  • Our client, a small and well-established Steel Manufacturing and Installation company is currently seeking a Field Operations Manager for their Raleigh, NC location. 
  • This position will be responsible for managing the planning and execution of field installation projects working with in-house installation crews, contractors, customers, sales staff, engineers, superintendents, and project managers.

Responsibilities:

  • Organize, execute, and manage the day-to-day project field operations, serving as the primary contact for field work ensuring the customers receive the highest level of attention, support, and communication.
  • Oversee the installation process at the customer site
  • Conduct on-site progress evaluations to report progress and update schedules
  • Engage with problem solvers to clear roadblocks and ensure on-time project completion. (Common problems include difficult site conditions, shimming, anchor variations, and structural steel system tolerances)
  • Coordinate with sales and customers to perform/verify site surveys of structural steel.
  • Perform onsite walkdowns with sales, installation leaders, contractors, and customers.
  • Develop work site plans, AHA’s, and lift/rigging plans for site safety requirements.
  • Coordinate with warehouse and fabrication to ensure material availability.
  • Procure all necessary tools, transportation, subcontractors, and other trades.
  • Manage installation equipment maintenance, safety, and inspections.
  • Perform post-work debriefings to evaluate progress
  • Ensure completion of SAT (Site Acceptance Test) and closeout punch list

Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of relevant experience and management experience in Construction
  • Education specializing in construction management or relevant experience
  • Knowledge of welding, painting, and electrical process
  • Knowledge of crane manufacturing is plus/preferred
  • Familiar with a variety of the field’s concepts, practices, and procedures to include
    • Reading blueprints
    • Taking field dimensions
  • Concrete footings
  • Anchor bolts
  • Structural steel fabrication and erection
  • Strong organizational, team building, & communication skills

Compensation:

  • Base salary in the 110k - 115k/year range, flexible dependent on candidate experience.
