Architectural Regional Manager – Architectural and Engineering Design Firm - Base Salary to 150k/year – Kalamazoo, MI

They have a dynamic team of over 170 professionals that work to analyze, advise, design, and deliver successful projects in partnership with government, education, commercial, and energy clients throughout the Great Lakes region. They offer their clients comprehensive, multi-disciplinary services including Architecture, Civil Engineering, Surveying, Construction Services, GIS, Interior Design, GIS, Landscape Architecture, and Reality Capture. Hence, they design and build awe-inspiring and award-winning streetscapes and 21st century learning environments, inspect interstates and bridges that ensure safe travel, accurately determine boundary lines and draw topographic maps, support energy service providers grow and enhance their green and traditional infrastructure, construct data-driven mapping solutions, envision outdoor gathering spaces that foster community, and so much more.
  • Currently they are seeking an Architectural Regional Manager to join their growing team. The Architectural Regional Manager for architecture is responsible for developing and managing the work and budgets of the department’s Architects, Interior Designers, Planners, and Production staff. The Architectural Regional Manager often serves as the Project Manager for medium to large architectural projects. The ideal candidate must have business development skills and a passion for mentoring a design team dedicated to producing exemplary work.

Responsibilities:

  • Own business development efforts for architecture in the Kalamazoo market.
  • Maintain and foster good relationships with current and potential clients.
  • Analyze current state of architecture work and develop strategy to increase efficiency and revenue.
  • Manage and mentor licensed and unlicensed staff including assignments of projects and priorities.
  • Monitor performance and direct necessary corrective actions on each project from the standpoint of client satisfaction, profitability and timeliness.
  • Manage the scope, planning, design, execution, monitoring, and closure of projects.
  • Assist Director of Architecture in preparing and managing department and project budgets and schedules.
  • Monitor and report progress toward project completion.
  • Establish department policies, procedures, and standards.
  • Meet regularly with other department leaders.
  • Reports directly to Director of Architecture.
  • Lead and mentor Kalamazoo Architecture staff.
  • Travel between offices for collaboration with team members and for project meetings will be required.

Qualifications:

  • 10+ years’ experience in Architecture.
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Architecture required.
  • Professional licensure required.
  • Experience in sustainable design/LEED.
  • Certification in project management.
  • Excellent communication, organization, and writing skills.
  • Demonstrated experience to develop new clients for the firm.
  • Strong office management and project management experience.
  • Ability to work with multiple clients, contractors, and subcontractors.
  • Team-based mentality and ability to mentor staff.

Compensation:

  • Base salary in the 100k – 150k/year range, dependent on experience.
