Regional Sales Engineer for Rapidly Expanding International Industrial Product Manufacturer. Base to $140k + Bonus, Incentives, Benefits. San Diego.

Our client, a rapidly expanding international manufacturer of an industrial product for the electronics, automotive and consumer market, has an immediate need for a skilled Sales Engineer for their Southern California market from Los Angeles to San Diego. 

The company is an international industrial product and solution leader.  Based internationally, this company has been in business for over 50 years and is a strong and very stable organization.  Through some acquisitions and investments, the company is in rapid expansion mode.  They have grown from 300 to 600 employees in the past 5 years, with plans to be close to 1,000 within the next few years.  They next phase of growth is targeted here in the United States.  As such, this is a fantastic time to get involved in their US expansion efforts.  You will have an opportunity to step into a key Business Development role with the company, with significant opportunity to grow and develop in your career.  This is a very exciting and unique opportunity to be part of an exciting phase of growth for an international leader!

This role as Sales Engineer is very much of a technical solution based sales role.  This is not just a pure hunting and sales role.  The Sales Engineer will be involved in both driving new business and managing accounts.  They will develop and design technical solutions with both existing customers and new customers.  They will form true partnerships with their customers, involving both the customer and the company’s internal team of technical professionals, in order to solve their customer’s challenges.  The customer base will have a strong focus in both the automotive and industrial electronics sector.  You will be selling custom products and equipment systems as well as providing the full technical support after the sale.  The Sales Engineer will also serve as the project manager on new product implementation.

The company will offer an extensive training program that will last a couple of months.  Prior to heading out in to the field, through this program, the Sales Engineer will be fully trained in all aspects of the products, their uses and applications and how the product is priced and sold.

Compensation will include a strong base salary in the $140k range, plus bonus and lucrative incentive package.  This will also offer a car allowance, cell phone, laptop and business expenses paid.  The rest of the benefits will include a 401k with company match, lucrative paid time off, health and dental insurance, and more.

In terms of background, the ideal candidate for this role will have a Bachelors Degree in Mechanical Engineering.  In addition to having a couple of years of technical sales experience, the candidate should have at least a few years of working as a hands on Applications Engineer.  Experience in the electronics or automotive industry is a plus, though not required.
