National Training Manager - Leading Commercial Construction Company - Base to $80k + Profit Sharing, Excellent Benefits

  • Our client, a nationwide leader in the commercial construction and building industry, has an immediate need for a skilled training and development professional for their open National Training Manager position.  The company has a long track record of success as a leading commercial construction contractor, and a fantastic name in the industry.  The person in this role will support the training for all the company’s operating units in the United States.  The ideal home location for this person will be Chicago, IL.  For the ideal background, we can consider a candidate in other areas that would be central to a major airport.
  • In this role, the National Training Manager will implement employee learning and education initiatives and support the training needs of all of the company’s operating units.  This will include developing and executing training programs and developing customized technical roofing training programs.  They will run training sessions, give company-wide presentations, develop unique training material and more, monitor the success of training using key metrics, and assist the leadership team in developing the competency of their staff.

Compensation in this role will include a base salary in the $70k-$80k range, plus a solid profit-sharing bonus program.  Additionally, the company provides excellent benefits, cell phone, laptop, and full comprehensive benefits that will include medical, dental, vision, 401k, generous paid time off and more.

Requirements for this role include at least 5 years of experience in learning and development plus at least 3 years of recent experience in instructional design and adult learning.  The ideal candidate will come from the commercial construction and/or roofing industry, and have the ability to read and understand blueprints, plans/specifications, and basic construction and roofing systems.  Additionally, the candidate must be willing and able travel as they will support the local operating teams in various regional markets.  The travel expectation will be 50%-60%.
