VP of Commercial Lines / Commercial Lines Manager with Large P&C Broker in Montgomery County, MD. Base in the 100k Range.
Our client, a rapidly growing large national broker, has an immediate need for a VP for their Commercial Lines team in their Montgomery County, MD branch location. As one of the larger brokers in the country, this position will offer a strong and experienced leader an opportunity to join a very strong team. In this role, the VP of Commercial Lines will be responsible for leading the company’s Commercial Lines staff. This role will provide true leadership to the group, leading all of the servicing of the current book of business as well as the production of new business.
This will include all day to day leadership of the commercial lines team, and all of the personnel decisions. You will assist in the recruiting of new staff, you will hire, handle training, discipline as needed and develop the team. You will assist the team when it comes to more advanced and complex situations with either the carriers or the insureds. You will be involved in regular meetings regarding renewals, assisting in this process. You will be involved in leading the new business production as well. This person will report to the Senior Vice President. Upon interest, a full job description will be provided.
Compensation will include a strong base salary in the $100k range, plus a strong bonus plan. Requirements for this position include at least 10 years of property and casualty experience, as well as liability experience, in a large broker or independent agency environment. Candidate must have experience working and leading in a larger agency / brokerage. Candidate needs to have an active P&C license. Candidate should have a strong leadership background as well. Should have a strong knowledge of all types of coverages and be ability to work with carriers to negotiate on pricing, etc. Strong computer skills are a must. A Bachelors Degree is strongly preferred.
