Territory Sales Rep of Mechanical Systems and Parts. Base to $80k + Residual Commission.
Our client, a strong regional HVAC solution provider to contractors and building owners, has an immediate need for a skilled Territory Sales Rep in their Washington, DC market. Thanks to continued success in the market, our client is growing and expanding. As such, this position is a new addition to the company’s sales team.
The Company: Our client has been in business for almost 40 years, serving building owners and contractors in the Mid Atlantic market. The company represents many of the top HVAC and building automation system manufacturers. They have a very large and established client base and serve daily as a solutions partner to owners, engineers and contractors for any commercially based HVAC project. The company has a great reputation for quality products and service and a work environment that promotes stability, family and work life balance.
The Position: In this position, the Territory Sales Rep will focus on calling on both the end user market (office buildings of all sizes) as well the contractors, engineers, building owners and the building maintenance contacts. While this person will take over an existing base of accounts, much of the focus in this role will prospecting and growing new relationships and accounts. Your will demonstrate new products, solve current challenges and establish yourself as an ongoing consultant to the base of clients for future needs. Much of the product focus in this role will be selling replacement equipment and parts. You will also be trained and developed as a product expert to help you build strong credibility to your customer, so that you become the go-to contact for all future related product and service needs.
The role is field based, thus you can work the territory from a home-based office. You do not need to report in and out of the company’s offices on a daily basis. At the same time, you will have a solid support team locally, and be part of a monthly sales meeting at the corporate offices in the Baltimore / DC area.
Compensation for this position will include a strong base salary in the $65,000 to $80,000 range. This position will also include a strong residual commission plan. While it will take a little while for these commissions to build, this position will become a $100k+ annual income role within 2 to 3 years of success. In addition, the company offers a monthly car allowance, cell phone, laptop and a full and comprehensive benefits package. Requirements for this position include a strong technical background in commercial and industrial HVAC and related mechanical products along with a solid track record in sales. A Bachelors Degree in a technical or business related field is preferred. In terms of sales, a background calling on office buildings, engineering, contractors, building owners and building maintenance is preferred.
