Our client, a leading distributor of industrial automation products and services, representing over 100 manufacturers, has an immediate need for a skilled Industrial Sales Rep to cover the Chicago, IL market.
This is a good strong company, founded over 50 years ago. Over the years, through organic growth and strategic acquisitions, they have grown into a leading national distributor in their field. The company employees over 200 people throughout the United States, and continue to grow and expand at an impressive rate.
The Territory Sales Rep will take over a well-performing existing territory, with strong active accounts. In this role, the Territory Sales Rep will be selling solutions primarily to engineering based contacts within the manufacturing world. In addition, they will be asked to increase market share and sales success by developing stronger relationships with the current accounts as well as hunting for new business in the market. The Rep will also work with the General Manager to develop an annual business and sales plan for the market. In terms of selling, the Rep will be responsible for cold calling, current client maintenance, working internal referrals, attending lunch & learn events and attending tradeshows and industry events. The Rep will also be asked to provide technical knowledge and assistance, helping the customer understand and select the right product for their application, as well helping from a technical support standpoint after the sale.
For this role, the compensation will include a starting base salary in the $55k-$65k range, which will be based on experience. In addition, they offer a lucrative commission package that will add another $10k-$20k in annual income. The benefits and perks include a car allowance, full benefits and more.
Requirements for this position include 2 years of experience in industrial / mechanical sales, with a proven track record of sales growth and success. A Bachelors Degree is not required, but would prefer a minimum of a two year degree from a technical school. Candidate should have a strong mechanical and technical aptitude.
