Territory Sales Rep with Growing Building Materials Distributor in Queens, NY.  Base to $60k, Uncapped Commission, Car, Amazing Benefits.

Our client, a rapidly expanding New York based Building Material Distributor, has an immediate need for a Territory Sales Rep to be based out of either the West Chester, NY or Queens, NY area.  The ultimate sales territory will include both markets and all areas in between.  The candidate can live in either area, or any place in between.

As a Territory Sales Rep with this company, you will be 100% field based, working the territory from a home-based office.  Other than coming in physically to the office one time per week, there will be no daily commute.  Ultimately, this role is focused on generating new business and growing market share.  As such, the understanding is that the primary task of the Territory Sales Rep in to hunt for new business, build new relationships and endlessly prospect new customers in order to expand the territory.  Only 10% of your time will be spent managing accounts.

As a building and construction materials distributor, you will be selling to general contractors, subcontractors, developers, project managers, purchasers and superintendents on construction job sites.  Thus, you will source and prospect new customers through cold calling and networking within this community.  You will also attend trade show and industry networking events.  You will be supported by a strong team of inside Account Managers that will handle the day to day needs of your customers.  The Territory Sales Rep will report directly to the company’s Business Development Manager.

Compensation for this position will include a strong base salary in the $40k-$60k range, depending upon experience.  Candidates with a strong existing customer base in this market will typically be closer to the top of the pay scale.  In addition, there will be an aggressive uncapped commission plan along with an excellent benefits package that will include healthcare, generous paid time off, cell phone, laptop, car allowance, expense card and much more.

The background and requirements needed for this position include 3-5 years of inside or outside sales experience within the building and construction materials industry.  Should have a strong understanding of the construction and contractor market within the tristate area.  Candidate should have documented sales success and numbers showing their ability to hunt for new business successfully.  A Bachelors Degree is preferred, though not required.
