Regional Sales Rep / Sales Engineer for Mechanical Product Manufacturer in Industrial Building sector. Midwest Territory in and around Ohio.
Our client, a global manufacturer of a niche industrial building product component, has an immediate need for a Sales Engineer to handle a Midwest Territory. This position will be based out of the Cleveland, OH area, and will cover a large, multi-state region. The ideal candidate will live in or around the Cleveland location, though there is some flexibility on specific home location, for example, Toledo, etc. The company will also consider a candidate that wants to relocate, and will pay a relocation package.

This is an existing territory, and the Sales Engineer will take over the accounts in the market. And while there will be Account Management duties with this role, the successful candidate in this role will be someone who is successful at cold calling and prospecting for new customers in the Territory, as this is very much a growth oriented company. In this role, the Sales Engineer will be selling to OEM Companies, selling a component part that is used with their manufacturing process. Responsibilities will include developing relationships and business opportunities with active and prospective customers, as part of the National Sales team. Again, this will includes cultivating strong relationships through regular client contacts with both active and prospective customers. This will require regular travel which will be around 50% travel in the territory. In terms of the travel, that is flexible, and will vary based on need, and your own scheduling. You will provide solutions to customers on issues related to product, manufacturing, and energy compliance. This person will also help to provide technical and engineering support. There will also be some participation in national and regional trade shows.
In terms of qualifications for this role, the candidate will have a Bachelors Degree in Engineering. This candidate should have a strong mechanical aptitude as well. In terms of experience, this candidate should have between 2-5 years of outside sales experience, with a proven track record of prospecting and hunting for new business. The candidate should have industry experience selling an industrial based product throughout the Midwest. Prior experience in the residential and/or commercial window and door industry is a plus, but certainly not required.
Compensation in this position will include a solid base salary, dependent upon experience.
