Our client, a leading national building product distributor, has an immediate need for a skilled Regional Sales Rep to help expand sales of their metal building industry product line throughout the state of Texas. The primary market area will be Houston, Dallas, and San Antonio. As this will be a field based role, the candidate can live in any of these major markets.
This is a fantastic company that has been growing in their industry over the past 40 years. While they are strong and stable with locations all over the country, they still promote a fantastic “small company” internal culture, where you will not feel like you are in corporate America.
As a Regional Sales Rep in this role, you will be asked to both hunt for new business in order to expand sales of this niche building product line throughout Texas as well as manage and grow the existing accounts that are already in place. The ideal candidate will already understand both building products and distribution sales, and have a good understanding of this market and industry in Texas. There will not be a lot of hand holding in this role, you will be given a lot of flexibility to build your sales plan for the territory and then execute that plan on a day to day basis. The company will provide additional industry training and encourage regular participation at industry trade shows and networking events.
In terms of compensation for this position, our client is offering a strong base salary in the $60k range, plus the ability to earn $100k+ though an uncapped commission plan. On top of this, the benefits and perks are excellent and will include car allowance plus reimbursement for gas, meal and entertainment account to use with clients, cell phone, laptop, healthcare benefits, generous PTO, 401k and more.
Requirements for this position include at least 3 years of outside sales experience and sales success within the building materials industry. And ideal candidate will have experience with metal building insulation products, though that is not required. A Bachelors Degree is preferred, but also not required. Candidate should have solid computer skills, must be able to travel overnight as required, and should have a desire to hunt for new business.
