Our client, a worldwide privately owned manufacturer and distributor of a line of building products, has an immediate need for a skilled Territory Sales Rep to take over a well performing territory for them in Houston Metro market. This is a very strong market for the company, with strong established customers in place and the expectation that growth will remain strong in this market. As such, this will be a very nice opportunity for someone to transition into.
The Territory Sales Rep will be taking over the existing clients and relationships in this territory, and growing it from there. This company is a fantastic company that has been in business for over 50 years, and has been extremely profitable and successful over their many years in business. It is a privately owned company, with locations and business units all throughout the United States. They are extremely well run, and pride themselves on being a great place to work and build a career. They have very little turnover, and very much believe in promoting from within. Basically, the Territory Sales Rep is fully responsible for driving revenue and margin and overall customer relationships with all accounts in this territory. So this role will be a mix of both driving new accounts as well as maximizing revenue from the current customer base. As far as the customer base, this role will call on mostly prodealer and lumberyards, as well as door shops and some independent retail accounts. Your contacts will include buyers, front line managers and small business owners within this retail and distribution sector. This is a field based role, so home base location is flexible. The ideal candidate will be based in Houston, and will have very limited overnight travel. Candidate should be extremely comfortable in working a remote territory with little day to day management. Need to be highly independent to succeed in this role.
Compensation will be a base salary plus strong guaranteed commission package that will start you in the $70k to $90k base range. This could go as high as $100k for the right candidate with industry experience. This person should be earning $100k+ within 24 months in this role. There is no cap on the commissions, and this Territory is poised for significant growth in revenue and commission potential. Additional benefits include a monthly car allowance plus payment per mile, cell phone and laptop, Health, Dental, Vision, Drug insurance, paid vacation and holidays, 401k with a company match and more.
Requirements for this position include 3+ years of successful outside sales experience as well as a Bachelors Degree. A preference will be given to candidates with a background in wood, cabinets or building materials, but that is not required.
