Purchasing Manager - Manufacturing – Base Salary to 75k/year – Charlotte, NC
- Our client, an established national manufacturer, is currently in search of a Purchasing Manager for their location in Charlotte, NC. With a long-standing presence in the industry spanning multiple decades, our client is demonstrating ongoing growth and expansion.
- As the Purchasing Manager, you will be responsible for implementing industry-leading purchasing practices for materials and services. You will ensure that products consistently meet the highest quality, delivery and customer standards while maximizing value. This position presents an exciting opportunity to demonstrate your leadership abilities and leverage your expertise in supply chain management. You will have the autonomy to enhance processes and establish strong relationships with suppliers.
Responsibilities:
- Oversee the strategic and operational aspects of purchasing for both direct and indirect materials and services
- Develop and maintain inventory management processes to optimize inventory levels and to ensure the plant’s operational needs are met
- Develop and maintain relationships with suppliers to ensure long-term partnerships and favorable terms
- Support the Supply Chain team in negotiations and drafting contracts
- Develop and maintain performance metrics to measure the effectiveness of procurement processes and initiate proactive measures to address pending issues effectively
- Collaborate with internal departments and suppliers to mitigate quality issues, identify root causes, and implement long-term corrective actions
- Monitor and perform accurate monthly and yearly cycle counts
- Provide leadership for ERP system requirements
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in business, Supply Chain Management or equivalent experience
- 3+ years of experience of procurement within a manufacturing setting
- 2+ years of experience in a supervisory role
- Proficiency in working with ERP systems and the capability to analyze the data it generates
- Must be detail-oriented with strong organizational and analytical skills
Compensation:
- Base salary to 75k/year
