Our client, a leading regional construction materials provider, has an immediate need for a skilled Logistics / Dispatch Manager for their internal team. In this role, the Logistics Manager will lead a team of 6 people and report directly to the VP of Operations. As a summary, this role will oversee all of the daily aspects of the construction materials dispatch, and will make sure all product deliveries are on time to the customers.
Specifically, this will include managing the daily activities of the team of customer service reps and dispatchers; making sure your team is properly staffed; making sure product is being delivered in a timely fashion and that the customers are happy; communicating with the team of drivers, plant managers and inside operations staff to make sure there are no issues or problems in the day to day delivery system; monitoring the fleet of commercial vehicles; assist the sales and management team in terms of solving any customer problems; prepare the team’s work schedule and assign daily workloads; monitor the computer dispatching system for maximum efficiency; interview, hire, train and develop the internal dispatching team.
Compensation in this position will include a solid base salary up to $90k for the right candidate. In addition, they offer a full and comprehensive benefits package.
Qualifications for this position include a minimum of three years of experience dispatching commercially licensed vehicles. Having experience in the building products / construction materials is a plus, though not required. Candidate should also have a solid background in managing a team of customer service staff. Additionally, the candidate must be able to read and understand maps and road instructions and be proficient in MS Office.
